Gee Whiz - Giddeeeeeeeeeeeee UP!
I can't believe it's been well over a week since I posted! I've had a lot on my mind and didn't feel much like writing - or doing much of anything for that matter. But I'm working on getting back to writing since I enjoy it. My photography is still going well, it's just a matter of getting photos off my camera/computer and uploading them to Flickr. I do a few at a time, as I feel up to it.
I received the official word that I have Fibromyalgia. The test for Lupus came back 1:640, which shows elevated antibodies, however, it's not a certain diagnosis. They'll keep an eye on it but for now, I'm awaiting test to sort out my thyroid and sleeping issues. Last week, I went to my Endocrinologist and she has a lot of ideas of what may be going on with my thyroid. Monday morning, I will have cortisone shots in my knees (hopefully both!) to help with my knee pain.
I had a sleep study and the room was nicer than a hotel room with the fluffy pillows, beautiful bedding, and a big widescreen HDTV. Wow. It was really cool lying on the bed watching the Colorado Rockies baseball game in HD... gee whiz, the curves and bulges I saw that I never get to see on my tv... whew. I had to change the channel before I got too carried away since I was hooked up to all those monitors. *snicker* Note to self: add an HDTV to my always growing wishlist!
Enough about my health issues an onto better things.
Last night, after I stained a section of our deck (bad Karen but I didn't want Mom doing it), Mom helped me prepare my graduation announcements! The announcements arrived yesterday and they're beautiful!! They better be because they were expensive! I arranged for my own celebration dinner (figures that me, the family party planner would have to plan my own party LOL) at my fave Mexican Restaurant... cha, cha, cha!
There were some funny things that I encountered - and designed - in the past few days. Since my sister out-did me on the pickle sculpture, had to come back fighting. I stopped off at the restaurant where she works and picked up dinner to take home. She made sure I had extra pickles because she knows how much I love them. There was a toothpick, complete with green plastic curlies, in each half of my sandwich. I pulled out (uh hum) the toothpick and laid *snicker* it on the take-out container lid and then added two pickles and I made my own sculpture.
I started to giggle as it reminded me of a term I used to use all the time; toothpick dick. *snicker* I took a photo with my phone and sent it to my sister... she thought I was most clever... but she thinks her sculpture is better than mine. Perhaps, but I'll keep working on it. *click on photo to embiggen* *ROFLMAO*
The next day at at work as I was walking out of a classroom, when I saw a strange hand sanitizer... at least I think that's what it is! Gee whiz, I wonder if it leaves hands feeling soft and creamy... yes, I had to say that, as part of my getting back in the saddle again. *snicker*
A couple days later at work, at my corporate office, a coworker yelled, "Hey - there goes the Weiner Mobile!" Of course, that caught my attention right away! Sure enough, the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile was, indeed, driving towards a local hotel, where it parked.
That must have been a day for weenies because on my way home, I followed this dude on his patriotic yet idiotic contraption. It may be licensed, but riding on a bike such as this on a 50 MPH road, going about 35 MPH, in traffic the driver is definitely a weenie. Check out the cool mudflap! On second thought... perhaps he's a Utah Redneck along with being a weenie. ;-)
Next up, my friend G (who used to have a blog of wonderful photos and poetry), sent me a link of the funniest thing! It's a online newspaper article about an unmanned flying manhood called a C*ck Copter. I nearly wet my pants when I saw the video that went along with the story. If only I understood the language of the video, however, the looks on their faces explains it all.
Gee whiz, I need to buy myself a C*ck Copter! Now that would be almost right up there with the actual G-Wiz! Fly free, aerial manhood!

Hee hee -- too funny about the pickles and hand "cleanser", plus it's all too easy to visualize the baseball players' curves and bulges. ;-) You have been quite the influence on me, as I buy bags of baby carrots, and there was a misshapen one the other day that had me chuckling. Now if I had had a couple of cherry tomatoes handy, I could have taken an interesting photo myself. LOL!
To be serious, though, I hope you are able to take meds to help with the fibromyalgia, and that the lupus question will soon be answered. If you have that as well, I pray that there will be treatments that will help.
HUGS!
PERVERT! *LOL*
Lot of fun here today, Cuz. I loved the flying weenie.
A *Gee-Whiz* post on a Sunday - that's different!
Have a great week, Karen.
Hey you! When is graduation?? I've been so out of the loop that things are just creeping up on me before I know it! I know you are very proud (I am of you too) and can't imagine waiting until now to finally "do the walk"! I hope you get to feeling better too! Thyroids can be a pain...took me six months to finally get my levels right, but now a lot of the pains are history too! It's crazy what these little things can do to you...who would have 'thunk it!
