Catching Up

I wonder if I will ever get caught up with everyone after my life gets back to normal; whatever normal is!  I spend most of my day upstairs and away from my computer in my bedroom with internet connection.  My laptop doesn't have a wireless modem so I can't access the internet from it so I'm forced to do work when I'm not caring for my parents.  I'm not whining, I'm explaining why I haven't been able to visit anyone.  The little internet breaks I get, I spend answering email.  I miss everyone and I appreciate those of you who stop by every day more than I can say; you all help me keep my sanity.

Mom is doing better each day and therefore, Dad is too.  He hasn't threatened to run away again and I didn't think he did run away.  I haven't had any more melt-downs, thankfully!

Dad had a great birthday Saturday and was pleased when I told him all the birthday wishes you all sent.  Mom and I took Dad to see the movie, Wild Hogs, which we all loved (Mom took her special mirror to watch the movie).  Dad said he missed a lot because he was laughing so hard, and I was too, but having seen it before, I was able to catch a lot of what I missed the first time.  In the evening, all my siblings and some of my nieces and nephews came over to eat pizza then have pie and ice cream.  We were all so tired from Saturday that Sunday was a really lazy day for all of us.

My right hip is still hurting and I cannot stand it any more and will see my RA doc today at 10:00am.  My right knee and left hip are also hurting so I'm going to see if I can get three shots!  I'm a glutton for punishment but that is how desperate I am for pain relief!  I'm tired of living on pain pills and having a foggy head.

I have two papers to write and a mid-term test to take this coming weekend but hopefully (fingers, toes, and eyes crossed) after that's done, my life will settle down.  Mom will see her eye surgeon this afternoon and whether the doc can see her retina will determine what will happen in the next two weeks.  The gas bubble in her eye is getting smaller and if he can see the retina to examine the state of the repair and if it is repaired, then she can return to normal activity at the end of the week.  She's more than ready to get back to normal because she's tired of seeing everyone's shoes, but she recognizes people by their shoes so that is entertaining!

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Monica's daughter's friend; she has a small fracture in her skull and was flown to Dallas in the wee hours of yesterday morning and will be kept there for another day or two.

You're not supposed to catch up just step back in like you were always here.
Good to hear you mother is improving and your dad is not running away from home.
Now it might make your mother run away from home so you are not off the hook you know.
I need shots to the center of my knee when ever the pain gets bad so I make sure I never tell the doctor when my knee hurts because the shot hurts more than the knee.

Have a nice day

Normal well my friend----something tells me this is normal for us these days. If maybe we could just slow the rate of things down from time to time that would help but we find ways to keep up with the pace.

Hope the visit with your doctor goes well and the pain will decrease. Oh I have a question----when you take your mom for her appointment today will there be another little hand holding train or is your dad staying home. I still smile when I think of the way you described to me things went when all three of you went last time.

Sending you special thoughts and my love for you are one dear friend. Have a good day.

Hope your parents get better; make sure you don't wear yourself down and end up being in bad health yourself. Sometimes you have to get help because things can overwhelm you; I know how that can happen.

I'm glad things are better for your Mom and Dad. My family is just crazy enough to trade shoes with each other to confuse her just for giggles! LOL
Make sure you take care of yourself and make time for you!

I visit every day, but I'm so bad at commenting, sorry! Take care of yourself - I'm worried you will overdo things big time. *HUGS* Thinking of you!
