Gee Whiz Thursday - Weird Week
1. After deciding to take Monday off as a holiday, I pretty much stayed in bed all day long. I watched The Lakehouse and although it was different than I thought it would be, I loved it. I'm such a sucker for romance. I was in bed (again) at 4pm and asleep shortly after that. I slept 12 hours.. ahhh... gee whiz.
2. Last week my nephew Travis sent me a text message telling me that he and his fiance', Sara, moved their wedding from June 14 to May 11. I didn't think much of it and told him I was more excited for their big day. When I got home, I told my parents about the reschedule and they acted strange and said, "You know then?" OK, so I'm clue less. It turns out that Sara is six weeks pregnant (HOORAY). The family is a bit freaked out but I couldn't be happier for them. Yesterday, Travis told me and of course, I started to cry, gee whiz, I'm such a boob. I told him since he's like a son to me, that I want to be a big part of this child's life. He got a little choked up and said, "It's not even a question." Geez... I'm crying again.
Travis graduates (Bachelor's) on May 4 too and Sara graduated about six months ago and just got a good job at the dept of family services. Both are psychology majors and they will do well. She wants to go into children's counseling (she has such a gift with children) and Travis wants to go into family psychology and hopes to work towards his masters and Ph.D. The baby will be a big adjustment, but both are committed to make a good home and will take one step at a time.
3. Gee whiz, I found out I have one more week for my management paper before I have to turn it in. I gave my "draft" to my teacher yesterday to see if it's what he's expecting. I do, however, have a final on Wednesday, a presentation the last week of the term and if I have time, I will work on it this weekend. I have an Auditing test tonight plus homework for the weekend. Gah. Is it March 8 yet?!
4. The lovely Hula called me this evening and asked me to blog for her, to let everyone know her computer is in the shop. Hmmm, me thinks its quite a coincidence that her PC decided to take a dive when she was supposed to be answering our "questions" to her. Gee whiz, I'm only kidding. I believe her that her PC is in the shop.
5. Speaking of Hula, just over two weeks and I'll be flying to Denver to stay with her and meet the lovely Monica. I'm looking forward to a weekend full of FUN. I'm also looking forward to seeing Andrew from the Gunsmoke Files and his wife, Skunkfeathers, the Genuines, Cyndy, and hopefully FTS at our blogger meet/dinner. Gee whiz, this will be so much fun!
6. There's been a little monster come out of me this week; I'm not sure what the cause is or if there is a single cause. I'm tired, I'm stressed, I feel off, and I feel as if I have to take xanax to be around myself. Thank you, dear Vickie, for listening and for being you. Gee whiz, you are such a special part of my life and you always make me feel better, even when you're not feeling well, you're always there. I love you, girl friend.
7. I am blessed to have so many wonderful friends in my life; gee whiz, you know who you are... thank you all too.
8. Gee whiz, it's been a week since I tortured a certain Cyrano about the rose I received in class last week for Valentine's day. My teacher gave all the ladies a rose, so Cyrano, there are still no men to chase after in my classesl NO, not the teacher, he's at least 30 years older than me and he's married; don't go there. ;-)

I think I'm going to join you in your Gee Whiz Thursday since I gave up all but one hunk for lent.
Gee Whiz that is a great list! :) I didn't move my wedding up when I found out I was in the same situation... I just had to decide IF I wanted to wed, LOL I hope everything works out wonderfully for them! Give them my blessings! I know what you mean about not being yourself. I am just now finding me again after a month of not being me. It happens but it takes time.
I am happy for Travis and Sara. Sounds like they have things all planned out. I wish them the best. Your Monday off sounds wonderful. You really needed a me day and get caught up with your sleep. You got lots going on in school. Take one day at a time.
*HUGS*
Now that Thursday Thirteen is over I may have to start doing a G-Whiz Thursday as well. I enjoy you G-Whiz updates.
1. G'Whiz I liked that movie as well. We just watched a really good movie here and G-Whiz I can't remember the name of it. It was about the coast guard. Kevin Costner was in it. He was a rescue swimmer and then became an intructor at "A" school for a little while. Anyway it was good. Joe made a fast exit from the computer room where we were watching it. I caught a glimse of tears in his eyes. When you are 14 and male I guess you high tail it away when you are emotional eh? G-Whiz now I remember, it was called the Guardian.
2.Wooooooooohooooooooo on the baby! An earlier wedding sounds wonderful and G'Whiz they sound like they are on the right track and doing well. They look so happy!
3. LOL, you are always so on top of everything. I am so proud of you!
4.Tell Hula I said hello and I miss her.
5.I wish you could put me in your pocket and bring me along. That sounds like so much fun.
If i forget to tell you later give FTS a big punch in the arm *HARD from me. Tell him it is from "Rags" hahahaha!
6. Vickie Rocks! She is sooooooooo sweet. I adore her as well.

Take care and enjoy your day!
Your nephew and his fiancee sound like they have their act together...tell the family this is a gift!
You're going to Denver? WOW.
Who is Cyrano? Is he cute?

Congrats on the new family baby; they are fun! Poor Hula. I miss her. And I hope you blog lots of photos from the trip. I would love to share in the fun vicariously.
I just helped another friend with her English composition paper on Stem Sell Research.
After I sent her my 'help', she sent me a reminder that the paper was on Stem CELL Research.
I was wonderin' how the flowers felt about my previous thoughts...then they remembered, I've had three concussions...'nuff said ;-)
