The Looking Glass

Deanna teen Deanna 31

These are photos of my mom; the first taken when she was a teenager and the second one taken in her early 20's. When my brother J Dee was helping me assemble the center pieces for Mom's party a couple of weeks ago, these were among the photos I printed to us. J Dee held these two photos up to me and asked me,

"Who do these look like?" with a big grin on his face.
I told him "I give up, who? You?"
Then we laughed, but then he asked, "No, seriously... who?
He was looking at me intently, and I guessed, "Me?"
"You got it," he replied.

I knew I resembled her a little but didn't realize how much. It's a good feeling, knowing that I resemble someone I respect and love so much.

Imagine that... as my siblings always teased me about when I was little; being the youngest and the only toe-head blonde; they said I was adopted. But now, it looks as if I wasn't adopted after all.

I found a picture of my mum from her first communion that scared the hell out of me :) It was like looking in a mirror.

You are both very beautiful!
It is silly how all the families teased about one being adopted. I think it happened in many families.
Loui Anderson a stand up comic did a really funny skit on it. The youngest one was always told they were adopted. He was so happy when he got a little older and a little brother to pass it off on him.
We used to tease my little sister and say she was adopted. Looking back later what may have been funny at the time for us may not have been so funny to her.
Great pictures!
Hugs and Love,

Yep - I see it in the shape of your faces, eyebrows, chin and those great cheekbones.

It's funny; everyone always said I looked like Dad, but now that I'm older, I actually look more like Mom. They were both good looking dontcha' know! hahahaha

I really like the pic of your mom by the lake, fabulous composition. Both very pretty gals.
We used to tease one of my sisters that they mixed her up at the hospital. She was the only dark-haired in a family of blondes.

You are both beautiful, and look very much alike. My mom and I look alike too, which makes me happy. My dad is a handsome man,but has very thin lips and deep set eyes. It looks good on a man--but I would look like a ferret.

Love those pictures of both you and your mom. Great post, too. So...

um, Cyrano made me ask...Irish, huh? (Guess you know what that means cause I don't have a clue...of course.)
