Sad News
I just spoke with my special guy about his sister. He is back in town for two days and he's returning to Seattle Saturday, when they'll turn off the life support for his sister. She's got a lot of head injuries and although she survived two surgeries, there is still no hope. They're honoring her wishes in her living will and they'll let her go. It's killing him but he also doesn't want her to suffer - none of his family does. He appreciates all the thoughts and prayers from everyone - and he was pleasantly surprised when I told him how many of you are thinking of him, his sister, and family.
Living wills are so important, especially in the event of a severe accident or sudden illness; it takes the pressure off the family to decide what to do.
May she rest in peace and her family be comforted.

I'm so sorry to hear the bad news, Karen.
That's so sad. I'm sorry for everyone. I agree though, living wills are very important. I keep telling Rich we gotta do it!
I am so sad. I can feel your sorrow, Karen. Call me if you need to talk.
Roy and I don't have living wills, either. We do need to get them.

Lots of Love,
Dawn
I'm certain it's difficult - particularly, this time of year. You're soooo right about Living Wills; it's the responsible thing to do for those left behind. I'll remember them in my prayers.
Oh, I'm so sorry! You said she had kids too. This will be so very hard for everyone, The time of year doesn't help either!
I'm so sorry and will continue too keep he & his family in my thoughts. :(
I am so sorry, mere words can't express. I pray your friend and his family find peace and comfort. May God be with them during this time.
*HUGS*
So sorry to hear this sad news, Karen, thoughts and condolences for her family and all affected.
I'm so sorry to hear this sad news, Karen. (((hugs))) My condolences to your friend and his family.
Yeah, they are all doing the right thing. Too bad, though.
I'm so so sorry hon for him. Such sad news
I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm sending my thoughts and best wishes. Living wills are incredibly helpful... I think people can feel guilt when turning off a life support machine, but it that's what the patient wants then I think that helps a bit.
I'm so sorry to hear this Karen...
So very sad. They have my prayers.
Came by way of Dawn's blog....SO sorry about your friends sister. Am sending lots of love, healing and light her way!!
just catching up and was saddened to read this post. i'm sending prayers and hugs to you, and your friend and his family. especially for his sister. may they all find peace and comfort during this most difficult time.
take care and hope the holidays keep you safe and you hug your family a little tighter !
I am still thinking about you daily, Karen, and I am still praying for your friend and his family. It is sad indeed that we cannot all be happy at the same time for just one holiday but at least we can hold each other up when we need to.
You're right about the living will. When that controversy happened a few years ago over the woman on life support, I had one made up.
I hope you are able to find some joy this holiday season and again, my prayers continue for a Christmas miracle and if not that, the strength for your friend and his family.
I'm so sorry. My heart grieves for both of you. Try as I will to find some joy in this season of celebration.
Karen, I'm sorry for their loss. Handling this at any time of the year is hard, but especially at Christmas. But GOD had a greater plan for her. Let him know we care! HUGS!
It's a hard thing to have to do, even more so at this time of year when its all about family.
