Happy Birthday Susie
Today is my sister Susie's 40th-something birthday and I would like to share the poem and photo collage I made for her.
We are best friends of the heart,
Sharing an unbreakable bond,
With a special love that continues to grow.
We have an unexplainable psychic connection
Sharing common thoughts and feelings,
Knowing when the other is in danger.
Growing up, there was squabbling,
But if one was in danger of being hurt,
The protective instinct and love
Came to the surface in an instant.
Fighting on the other’s behalf,
All the squabbles were forgotten.
As we grew older, we discovered
Similarities and common interests,
Which made our bond grow stronger.
We shared many tears and troubles,
Always understanding one another,
And feeling as if we were going through it too.
The laughter and jokes we shared were great,
All the times we dressed a like without prior plans.
We shared secrets with complete trust in confidence.
Never afraid to show our true selves.
We shared our deepest dreams and desires,
Never afraid to give her heart to hold in her sister’s hand.
